Z-Wave Water Sensor

I am looking for a way to report basement flooding through a Z-Wave controller/monitor. I am looking for either a Z-Wave water detector or else a Z-Wave module that will report a contact closure so that I could connect it to a separate water detector. Does anyone make either a Z-Wave water detector or Z-Wave contact closure reporting module?

Actually, a contact closure reporting module would be excellent for all sorts of monitoring. I found a module that will produce contact closure to operate a device, but I have not found one that will detect and report a contact closure.

I did see a window-open module that detects an open window, and the information said something about it having screw terminals for connection of other devices, but it was not clear whether it would actually report a contact closure across the screw terminals.

It seems very odd how few monitoring and reporting devices there are for Z-Wave.

Zwave water sensor

I'm living in San Diego for years. I found that most of san diego apartments are equipped with water sensor. I don't know whether those sensors are Z-wave water sensors or not.

Be sure the technician is

Be sure the technician is trained and certified. Anybody can get into this business and it often attracts the kind of people who are looking for a quick buck at your expense. If a tech takes the time to get quality education and training, he's probably also interested in building and maintaining a good reputation through high quality work.

FortrezZ Z-Wave Wireless Water and Freeze Alarm Sensor WWA-01

Water damage caused by leaking pipes, corroded water heaters, water storage tanks, fixtures in bathrooms, laundry rooms, refrigerator drip pans, etc. can be costly and time consuming to fix. Prevent them from happening with the Wireless Water Alarm and get peace of mind and the protection you expect. The WWA-01 is a Z-Wave enabled device and is fully compatible with any Z-Wave enabled network. Inclusion of this WWA-01 into a Z-Wave network allows remote status monitoring and alerts when the detector is triggered. Other Z-Wave nodes in the system also act as repeaters if they support that function. Perfect for use next to the bath tub, hot tub, under sinks, near the sump pump, refrigerator, water heater, toilet, dish washer and laundry machine. And use it anywhere you need freeze detection - near water pipes or in other freeze-sensitive rooms.

Water sensor

Sensaphone Web600 will do exactly what you want. They even have custom sensors for water leaks. Around $400. I have one I use for other misc contact closures in automation/alarm systems. Device will send email and or text message. Pretty easy to set up.

Basement flooding has become

Basement flooding has become a serious issue nowadays. People are desperately trying to report this and luckily for them many devices are available for that purpose. One such way is through the Z wave controller. In this case he seems to be looking for a Z wave water detector. In my opinion a contact closing reporting module will do the trick as it is excellent for all kinds of monitoring!
